Rwandese are proud of the U-20 qualification to the world cup that took place on 6th August, 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya. Our female team Amavubi has secured a place in the under 20 volley ball world cup championship. They started by eliminating Cameroun in the second half (1/2) beating 3-1 sets and met Egyptian national team on this Sunday that won last championship. From a total of nine teams after the week-long competition, the defending champion Egypt and Rwanda secured the ticket to the global championships as the best two sides. It’s not usual for most of our Rwandan teams in different disciplines that a team that Rwanda has qualified for the world cup, it’s great.
These teenagers served a great honor and a good example in raising the pride of our country in this competition due to good foundation, intensive trainings and surviving strong champions like DRC and Cameroon.
No doubt, if intense trainings continue, with experience they have gained will perform well in the world cup in Mexico next year 2019. Hope that they continue on this top level, the level we also wanted in different disciplines to represent our country on the international level like Rayon sports FC that has qualified for quarter finals (1/4) in African Confederation Cup and also the football national team Amavubi who will play Ivory coast soon.
